It all began in the Crescent City at the corner of Rampart and Dumaine, engineer Cosimo Matassa's J&M Music recording studio. Little Richard, Lloyd Price, Shirley & Lee, Bobby Charles, Smiley Lewis, Huey "Piano" Smith, T-Bone Walker, Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Clarence "Frogman" Henry, Earl King, Bobby Mitchell, and about thirty-five others. This is foundation American r&b/rock'n'roll. The box set contains a 40 page booklet with rare photographs, artist biographies, and in-depth discographical information on the contained singles.
